Plus Size Bridesmaids DressesSelecting Plus Size Bridesmaids Dresses can be one of the harder decisions in wedding planning. Women do not come in cookie cutter shapes and measurements, and the bridesmaids need to not only look fabulous but feel comfortable in what they're wearing. Start early so you don't have to rush the decision!
Shopping for Plus Size Bridesmaid Gowns Many plus size women don't like the way their upper arms look. That means going with elbow, 3/4 or long sleeve dresses. The only problem you may run into is that many weddings are in Summer – and longer sleeves may simply not be practical. In this case consider a lightweight or even sheer shawl that offers just enough coverage without being hot. Plus size bridesmaid dresses should not be proverbially painted on. Tight clothing does not accentuate a plus size woman's body favorably. So look at dresses with movement and flow. It doesn't have to be baggy, but it certainly shouldn't cling. Along the same lines, seek out dresses that go beyond the bridesmaids knees. The length of the dress gives the illusion that the women are taller. While bridesmaids dresses come in every color of the rainbow, dark hues are best for your plus size bridesmaid. Another advantage here is that dark dresses don't show stains or sweat as readily. Mind you, you have to think about your wedding's theme as well, but just keep this in mind and try to avoid pastels. Maybe what you need isn't a one piece dress at all. You could look into two piece items, which can readily be used for the office or other functions after the wedding. Or, maybe even well-tailored dress pants would fit the bill nicely. It's your wedding – there is no rule that says plus size bridesmaids dresses HAVE to be actual dresses (smile)! (See Top Picks: Related Pages:
